Abstract	Digital media take a central part of workaday life to inform, to organize the daily routine, to get entertained or have conversations, or to network and socialize, but also to support informal as well as formal learning processes. This article focuses on the use of educational media in didactic scenarios with mobile devices. Therefore educational media will be explained, and newer developments considered. With this progress in using mobile devices in mind, already existing discussions on e-learning scenarios will be systematized and explained from a didactical point of view. Following this, further developments of specific competences of teachers will be presented. Concluding, the current discussion about using mobile devices in class will be critically examined.
