| Abstract | Modern Russian and world sociopolitical situation as a whole shown its uncertainty and imbalance and even explosive hazard, that is primarily associated with the peoples' wish for genuine democratic changes in all spheres of life. It is assumemd to be high time for reconsidering the whole value for man of any nationality living in Russia the importance and role of civil and national sport in consolidation and harmonization of relationships of all Russian ethnic groups. Surely, it is not panacea for all sociopolitical, socioeconomic and sociocultural woes of our peoples, but the way of popularization of genuinely folk and national sports among our population, congenial für practically every citizen of the cosmopolitan Russian Federation, effective solution, first of all, of the part of Russian sociocultural problems among youth. The present paper is mainly focused on consideration of the abovementioned problem among native indigenious peoples of the North of the Russian Federation. There were marked some matters solution of which will facilitate organization of the stable system of development and popularization of national sports among the peoples of the Russian Federation, including peoples of the North. All this will promote a prompt positive result in the field of harmonization of both interethnic relationships in our cosmopolitan country and physical and mental recreation of the peoples of Russia.
