The article ask for a new understanding of politics, focussed on a strong civil society, which is capable of appreciating diversity and which allows disadvantaged groups of society, as well, to participate in it. The author presents three theoretical approaches, which contain some important aspects for a strong and diverse civil society. These approaches are used to formulate practicable courses of action on the basis of a concrete example, thus establishing a link between the theoretical and practical side of civil society. In the summary the necessity of a stronger link between theory and practice in social work is underlined in the context of the topic, and challenges thus arising for different protagonists are formulated. |
