Abstract | Increasing pupils' motivation for learning is one of the important goals of every educational process, including physical education. Motivation is one of a very broad range of psychological characteristics, studied from different theoretical perspectives. The review of the recent literature showed that motivation in P.E. has been studied as one of the key factors in influencing learning outcomes. The objective of this paper is to review the literature relevant to the recent findings in motivation. Achievement goal theory and self-determination theory are two of the concepts that are presented. Empiric studies published over the last two years derived from theoretical concepts not mentioned before are presented in the article. Verf.-Referat. |
