Abstract	"The Handbook is recognized as an authoritative resource on the U.S. labor force. It continues and enhances the Bureau of Labor Statistics' (BLS) discontinued publication, Labor Statistics. It brings historical and recent data from the BLS and other government agencies together into a convenient, single-volume source of labor information. The Handbook is a comprehensive reference providing an abundance of data on a variety of topics including: Employment and unemployment, Earnings, Prices, Productivity, Consumer expenditures, Employment projections by industry and occupation, Occupational safety and health, Union membership, International labor comparisons.; The 14th edition maintains the content of previous editions and updates the text with additional and new features including: A new section in Chapter 1 has been added on persons with a disability in the labor force Chapter 6 has been expanded to include new tables on employee compensation Tables in Chapter 2 now include hours of work, earnings per hour, and earnings per week for all employees as well as for production and nonsupervisory workers."
