Abstract | "Undertaking a process such as the German International Student Barometer (D-ISB) is no simple task. This practical guide can aid Higher Education Institutions in achieving a high standard of learning, support and evaluation. It highlights the areas of strength and weakness which can be addressed in order to stimulate both general and specific improvements to the international student experience. The motivation for international students studying abroad is of growing interest to the marketing sector of higher education. Those German Higher Education Institutions looking to attract international students can use this manual as a means to establish better practice in areas which are of particular interest to them. By offering an insight into differences in experiences between international students in various countries and at different Higher Education Institutions, this guide pinpoints important fields and offers suggestions for enhancing the student experience for institutions of varied budgets. Considering Germany's current achievements in providing a satisfactory, supportive and enjoyable international experience, this guide offers a platform for continuance and development in the international higher education market."
