| Abstract | Due to the role of the metacognition students' actvity, through the practice of the processes of observation, control, setting, we consider it necessary and useful to discuss the relation between metacognition and self-evolution, the latter supposing self-analysis, self- control and self-setting. Therefore we infer that an important direction is represented by the training and stimulation of metacognitive capacities. Within the activities with the students, the teacher can capitalize many situations in order to develop the metacognitive capacities of the students, and these just like many other categories of capacities, can be formed and developed through exercise, by repetedly placing the students in stimulating situations. These can precede the learning activity, can be simultaneous with it or can succeed it. To stimulate metacognition, the teacher in himself/herself should be a model, to stimulate the students' attempts to capitalize metacognition. |
