"The main purpose of this study was to analyse the problem of the return to employment of workers hit by such restructuring, and the competencies that help find another job (or create one's own self-employment) - or, conversely, the lack of which makes new job searching more difficult for other people. The competencies dealt with were primarly 'horizontal' generic skills that are independent from type of work and sector, not specific competencies acquired through using any particular tool or technique. The geographic scope of the study included a selection of 16 Member States, which are affected by restructuring problems to varying degrees and in various ways. Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Hungary, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia and the United Kingdom." Forschungsmethode: empirisch-qualitativ; empirisch; Querschnitt. (author's abstract, IAB-Doku). |
