Abstract	This book offers an overview on the interferences of modeling and assessing cognitive development in school. The various chapters provide explorative studies about the overlap between achievement and growth, examinations of psychometric claims in modeling and assessing cognitive development, and value-based approaches for quantifying student's scientific problem solving efficiency and effectiveness within and across educational systems.
