Abstract	"The statistical yearbook is our central and the most comprehensive regular annual serial publication, which is also available on the Internet. It is published regularly since 1964. Before that it was published in 1955 and 1953. It has been bilingual since 1994. It comprises: - a rich collection of statistical data from all statistical surveys carried out by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia as well as data collected by other bodies and organisations authorised for collecting statistical data methodological explanations, statistical definitions and statistical terminology, charts; - review by statistical regions, - review by municipalities, - review by urban areas, - international comparison. As regards the contents, the data are arranged in chapters on the following fields: territory and climate, administrative territorial structure, business subjects, population, elections, education, research and development, science and technology, culture and sport, health, social security, crime, labour force, wages, level of living, prices, agriculture and fishing, forestry and hunting, mining and manufacturing, energy, crafts, construction, transport, communications, external trade, distributive trade, purchase, hotels and restaurants, tourism, national accounts, gross fixed capital formation (gross investment), balance of public financing, means of individuals, consumer credits and insurance, balance of payments, and environment.
