Abstract	Within this study, the effects of different types of pre-vocational trainings were tested on vocational decision skills of 7th grade students. The pre-vocational training was realized in three ways: integrated in daily instruction, as an additional subject, or as project. Testing was based on a quasi-experimental pre-post-test-design. As dependent variables, attitudes towards vocational decisions (self-confidence, engagement, flexibility, and self-regulation), basic skills, and vocational problem-solving knowledge of 191 students were measured. In addition to the effects of the different types of training, also effects of the school, the class, and the education of the teachers were tested. Results suggest weak effects of pre-vocational trainings, especially concerning attitudes. Performance on knowledge tests was the highest when training was based on projects. Also, significant effects of classes and teachers were identified. Finally, practical implications for enhancing the quality of pre-vocational trainings are briefly discussed. (DIPF/Orig.).
