This essay deals with the sensation of hope as a central category of psychosocial care and shows how various postmodern conceptions and dimensions of hope - such as struggle/resistance, the birth of one's inner power, an open future and the question of meaning in life- can enrich modern systems of help that are usually dominated by such factors as efficiency, normalization and integration. It is argued that within these systems of help the consideration of hope may lead to qualitative changes. |
