Abstract | Memory has become such a broad field of study and research that it is hard to keep up to date with new developments. There is a danger of animal research, laboratory human research, neuropsychology, computational modelling and brain imaging studies proceeding in relative ignorance of each other. Many of these sub-disciplines are taught separately, depriving students on the integration that makes the field so productive and fascinating. This 'Critical concepts set' aims to collate the most influential and important works across the full field of the discipline and to organise the material in a way that highlights their different contributions to our understanding of memory." Volume 3 applies to the "Working memory" and comprises five parts: 1. Models of short-term and working memory, 2. Features of short-term memory, 3. Quantitative models of verbal short-term memory, 4. Executive memory, 5. The role of working memory in cognition. All articles are reprints of articles published between 1965 and 2001. (DIPF/Orig./Kr.). |
