Considering the enormous interest in system theories within social work, this article intends to analyse the suitability of system theory for social work and arrives at a critical result. Beside a short analysis of the origins of construcivism and system theory, it especially questions its claim of being a holistic theory. Is system theory really suitable to reach the clients of social work or does the science of social work once more just adapt to a scientific trend? |
