| Abstract | "Der Aufsatz begründet die forschungspraktischen Vorteile einer systematischen Verknüpfung von Generationen-, Jugend- und Sozialisationsforschung. Dazu wird der Zusammenhang von Generationenbeziehungen als eine 'soziale Verkehrsform', Jugend als 'soziale Gruppe' und Sozialisation als 'sozialer Prozess' entfaltet. Im Zentrum steht dabei eine sozialisationstheoretische Bestimmung des Forschungsfeldes Jugend. Anhand kursorischer Beispiele wird die heuristische Bedeutung einer solchen Bestimmung für die empirische Jugendforschung illustriert." (Autorenreferat). "The paper substantiates the relevance of a systematic combination for research on generation, youth and socialization. For this purpose the connection between generation as a special form of social relationship, youth as a social group, and socialization as a social process will be developed. The main topic is a socialization-theoretical foundation of research on youth. Examples will illustrate the heuristic meaning of such theoretical foundation for empirical research on youth."
