Abstract	Constructivist Physics Lessons? Two constructivist-based category systems (the COSC and the CTS) are developed to analyse video tapes of physics lessons documented in our video study (the present study is part of IPN video study project). The COSC provides a framework to analyse teachers' subjective theories as expressed in the interviews and to categorize their actual teaching behaviour. Analyses of the videos reveal that lessons show only limited characteristics of constructivist learning environments. The CTS, on the other hand, provides a framework to analyse whether a lesson follow a logical sequences for facilitating students' conceptual change as suggested by the conceptual change principles. Analyses of the videos suggest that some lessons do not show such clear teaching sequences.
