Abstract | In this age of accountability, society and government are asking for verification of the effectiveness and efficiency of instructional practices in schools. The "No Child Left Behind Act" forged a new focus on improving student education based on evidence-based instructional methods. ... This book is a compendium of empirically verified instructional methods derived from research in behavioral analysis. Coverage includes precision teaching, direct instruction, computerized teaching, and personalized system of instruction, as well as discussing the use of peer tutoring, and chapters specific to teaching language, cognition, grammar, and writing. The methods discussed can be seamlessly integrated into most general and special education curricula. (DIPF/Orig.). |
