Abstract | Because of its favourable geographical location and extensive autonomy, the German- speaking Community, a small border region with 67,000 inhabitants, is in a situation that enables its children to use several foreign languages actively, to communicate with a multicultural world and influence it. This means that foreign language teaching/ learning is an integral part of the overall aims of education right from primary school. To this end, and as a result of numerous in-service training courses, the Two Languages - One Way project look shape and grew until it resulted in a European co-operation project. (DIPF/orig.). |
