Abstract	The basic purpose of this chapter is to assess critically actual evidence about the Little Tigers, in relation particularly to their economic and educational development. It has two main focuses. First, it seeks to identify and characterise the Little Asian Tigers within the context of the Asia-Pacific Rim, as economies and as polities. Its methods are not premised on the currently popular view that their experiences can be fully explained by means of generalisations emerging from the assumptions of globalisation theorists, but seek to show commonalities and differences. The article's second main focus is on the educational systems and educational policies of the Little Asian Tigers, again attempting to display commonalities and differences while considering the relations between education and change.
