| Abstract | Present teaching learning process at the universities and colleges cannot positively influence the adaptation process of the graduate in his/her professional career. The analysis of the problems of the adaptation process and the employment of the graduates and the reasons of these problems have been used as the starting information for the solution and elaboration of the "non-standard" form of teaching based on a closer link between the theory and practice in the process of the university graduate preparation. The model of such a teaching has been tested by the four-year practice at the Department of Industrial Robotics SjF TU Kosice (84 graduates). Further improvement of this model, namely based on the requirements of the external conditions, should result in a more universal practical model of teaching and training.
