Abstract	This article is part of the publication of contributions delivered at the 24th annual conference of the Association for Teacher Education in Europe (ATEE), held at the University of Leipzig, 30.08.-05.09.1999. "There are not too many offers for teacher education and training courses open to the European dimension, i. e. offers adressed to those students who want to open their professional horizon during their studies by taking university studies or a trainee program abroad in order to get to know schooling from different national perspectives. Six years ago, a group of university teachers coming from eight European countries had the intention to improve this situation. They created a pattern of a study module centered to the European dimension in order to foster students' mobility by facilitating the obtention of course credits accepted in all European Partner institutions by the means of the SOCRATES/ERASMUS program of the European Union. As a complement to these modules there were created intensive courses titled Education for Citizenships in the 21st century. These courses have been taken place every year since 1998. Appproximately 30 students from eight European universities and their teachers came together to work, to learn and to live together for a fortnight." (DIPF/Orig.).
