Abstract | Strategies for educational reform: from concept to realisation is based upon the symposium organised jointly by the Council of Europe's Council for Cultural Co- operation and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic. In addition to the introductory paper and the general report, this book includes seven case studies on primary and secondary educational reform in seven European countries. The period covered is the last ten years, a period which marked not only the beginning of landmark changes in Central and Eastern Europe, changes in Western Europe as well. The case studies were built around several key concepts designed to bring to the forefront the process of the reforms rather than their actual content. As a result, the case studies reveal how some aspects of reform were facilitated and how others were impeded, thus producing valuable and rich examples of good practice. (DIPF/orig.). |
