Abstract | The authors report on a cross-cultural research program which examined "the impact of educational change on selected dimensions of the teachers' working life in state secondary schools so as to throw light on the relationships between different types oc change and the problems of implementation." The study investigated the effects of change on: "school roles, responsibilities and working conditions; relationships with teacher colleagues, administrators, students and parents; professional development and own competence; student motivation and learning." Account was taken of the "origin of change; objective(s) of change; teachers' role in the change; and forces affecting the implementation of the change." (DIPF/Bi.). |
