Abstract	The editor writes: "The main goal of our conference was to compare the main areas of work, structure, legal framework and financial basis of the institutions and countries the conference participants are from. The second step was ... to turn to detailed questions about content. We discussed the following problems in further education: how to reach and retain certain target groups; impact of new information tecvhnologies; the importance of contunued education and intercultural competence. In order to discuss these questions, we worked on the differences and similarities between our instititions. We then tried to find new ways of cooperating." (DIPF/orig.).
