Abstract	In this article the author gives a brief description of the status of educational information in Lebanon, of the educational reform in Lebanon and of decision-making in educational policy. She then presents two examples of educational research studies. In her view the lack of a policy for disseminating research findings in Lebanon explains the negligible role of research in decision-making in Lebanon. Decision-makers are neither aware of research nor of researchers. The author also considers that although a fair amount of education research is undertaken, it often deals with small samples and very specific topics. What should be undertaken is large-scale research, which is, however, not possible for financial reasons. She recommends firstly the establishment of a better information network linking the different educational research centres, which would lead to an improvement in the quality of research, and secondly the setting up of a proper mechanism for disseminating and evaluating research results.
