Abstract	"This study focuses on the well-being and lifestyle of families of 2 - 17-year-old children with Down syndrome (DS) in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland.... The results indicate that bringing up a child with DS is usually well managed in the Nordic countries." The study demonstrates this by results concerning: mother's reported psychosomatic symptoms; diminishing expectations of parents; the mother as external support for the child's daily activities; mothers' satisfaction with family situation, social contacts, work situation, state of health and generally with their life situations.
