Abstract	The conference was organized by the Center for European Studies from the Institute for Educational and Psychological Research with the financing from the PHARE programme and with the contribution from the Foundation of Jiri of Podebrady for European Co-operation. The conference was attended by European and local specialists, staff from the faculty and other instituts, teachers and students. The papers were published by the Information Center of the Faculty of Education in Prague. The purpose of the conference was to contribute to the definition of concept for European Studies in the school system and teacher training, the overview of strategies and attitudes for the presentation of the European dimension in education in the Czech Republic and abroad, evaluation and exchange of present experiences from the implementation of European Studies in the curriculum and in the teacher training. The conference was divided into three main areas: Europe and European identity, Czechs and Europe, Europe in education and in teacher training. (DIPF/orig.).
