Abstract	"The goal of this report is to consider some of the most difficult and important issues facing adult learning programmes, especially those affected by the use of modern technology". The first chapter of the book discusses for which objectives technology is a necessity. "Capter 2 describes some rather generic ideas about education and technology.... Chapter 3 ... describes a variety of technology-supported adult learning services in various sectors of education in different OECD countries.... Chapter 4 details several policy questions ... : To whom should access be extended by using new technology? How should technology-enabled programs be disigned to equitably support leaning? ... What policy questions are raised by new changes in the nature of campuses and of distance teaching? How might shortages of appropriate courseware be addressed? ... How might staff and program development be supported? How can distant learners and providers of educational services be helped to find one another and work together? ... Can technology play a role in controlling the costs of adult learning?" (DIPF/orig.).
