Abstract	Part 1, 2 and 3 cover the organisation of secondary schools, universities, and other establishments of further and higher education (fhe) in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. They describe the nature of the various examinations, main examination boards and the qualification they offer, including GCSEs, GNVQs and NVQs. Part 4 lists the degrees, diplomas and certificates awarded by individual universities, as well as those degree courses validated by universities, but run at colleges and institutions of fhe. Part 5 contains a wealth of information on over 200 trades and professions, detailing their various professional bodies and associations, along with their membership requirements and the qualifications and awards they offer. In addition, it lists relevant courses available at universities and other institutions of FHE [further and higher education]. Part 6 lists the bodies involved in the accreditations of colleges in the independent sector of fhe and part 7 explains the various types of professional bodies and lists other study associations and learnded societies.
