Abstract | The present volume contains the papers delivered at the workshop on "Teacher training and related materials in the context of intercultural education", organized in Delphi/Greece by the Department of Preschool Education at the University of Athens in April 1995. The workshop aimed at bringing together social scientists, educators and administrators who are involved in initial and/or in-service teacher education in the domain of the intercultural in their own specific context. The corner-stone for this meeting was the research and applied activities of (the) Greek interdisciplinary team over the past four years. The driving force behind it was to provide an opportunity to focus on specifics without disregarding the wider European situation, to shed light onto micro-level practices without overlooking the macro- level within which such practices are located. (The) aim was to bring together various national experiences and to attempt, through (the) discussions, to place them in a cohesive framework rather than present them as a series of disparate factual data.
