Abstract | Originally published in 1986. Reviews German educational reforms in the 1970s and early 1980s. As "essential features of continuity" operating also in pre-war Germany the author describes the dominant role of the state, the tension between uniformity and variety (federalistic structure of the education system) and the dual system in vocational education. Tensions between continuity and change led to reforms in the organisation of the system; these are discussed in ten points. (DIPF/Überschriften/Bi.). |
