Abstract | The author underlines that only a "very few European countries can claim to treat education law as a separate field of scientific study". Even the number of university chairs in "Education law" and the number of scientific journals dealing with this subject is up to now limited. In his contribution the author therefore asks in a polemical manner: Is education law a new scientific discipline? To answer this question in a positive way he submits two synthetic approaches on the aspects "Education as a basic right in present-day society" and "Developments in education law and the legal structuring of education." Finally the author enters into remarks on perspectives for international education law on a European scale. (DIPF/Ba.). |
