Abstract | This study examines the present conditions, problems and future developments of education in East Central Europe. It provides, in particular, an overview of the policy implications of the changes in the political and economic systems in Hungary, Czechoslovakia, and Poland. "Czechoslovakia" is used here, as a commonly known expression, to replace the official name of the country, i. e., Czech and Slowak Federal Republic (CSFR). The information presented in this study refers mainly to the situation in the Czech Republic, which is very similar to that in the Slovak Republic. Some cases mention specific features of Slovak education. (DIPF/Vorwort) |
