| Abstract | Students at high school need to learn how to write a coherent, well-structured, well-developed paper - not only in German but also in English. They need to learn that one or two sentences do not make a paragraph, that they have to develop their ideas and support their statements and arguments, and that they need an overall structure and a logical organization for their papers. Being able to write well is an essential qualification that all students should attain before they leave school. The text can be used by teachers of English as background information or can be handed out to students of English in upper-level high school classes. The article also provides suggestions on how to teach writing to advanced students of English. (Verlag, adapt.). |
