| Abstract | The new technologies of information and communication (NTIC) are coming massively into our society. This raises the central issue of the pedagogical uses of the internet in the fields of education and training. The aim of the European IN-TELE 98 Conference (INternet based TEaching and LEarning, Strasbourg, France, September 24-26) was clearly to go ahead the traditional positive discourse in favour of the NTIC. Researchers, teachers and trainers have presented several experiments or personal experiences on introducing the use of the internet in teaching and learning. Studies from countries of the European Community have offered an overview on the pedagogical uses of the Internet in several fields of education and training. (DIPF/ orig.). |
