Abstract | The aim of this study is: to obtain a better understanding of the current situation of vocational training in Latin America, to understand the role of vocational training in the processes of growth, competitiveness and employment in the Latin America region, to identify the roles of public sector and private sector (including SMEs, NGOs and the informal sector) with regard to vocational training, to have better understanding of the role of international assistance in this field, to understand the differences between countries in their vocational training systems, to identify potential strategic improvements for future role of international assistance. The present report is divided into two parts: 1. Executive summary and 2. Regional reports. Finally, it presents the relevant conclusions, based on the views of experts consulted in different countries and the overall opinion of the task force that carried out the research. The regional reports analyse the similarities and differences among neighbouring countries as well as the common aspects resulting from regional economic agreements. (DIPF/orig.). |
