Abstract	The author investigates in her detailed quantitative research, the field of human and childrens' rights. The Greek curriculum is nationally prescribed, as are textbooks. The investigation indicates a great deal of attention to human rights in the educational legislation as well as in the textbook and reading books. The author allows herself a detour and briefly enters the interesting area of moral development. Considering her own and others' research, she questions the cognitive stage theories of moral development and moral thinking and asserts that young children can grasp the concept of human rights and childrens' rights.
