Abstract	In many areas of education intensive use is being made of information and communication technology (ICT). A number of different schemes and projects existed which stimulated and streamlined activities in the area of ICT, one of which is entitled 'Telematics in teacher training' (or 'T3'). The T3 project is being participated in by seven European universities. The aim of the language module within the T3 project is to introduce ICT methods for the learning and teaching of modern languages and to encourage their use amongst teachers and students. To this end products are being developed which can be used in teacher training and which will eventually be incorporated into the curriculum. One of these products will be a website for language teachers which will enable teacher trainers, language teachers and students to obtain information and to communicate with each other.
