| Abstract | All those pupils who arrive in Catalonia from the age of 8 onwards, and who do not know the language of relation and teaching (Catalan) are called late incomers. In other words, both those coming from other parts of Spain as well as foreigners. [...] Their integration into a society where two languages exist side-by-side, often mostly Spanish- speaking, means that, if they are not Spanish speakers, they learn both at the same time.
