(Autorenreferat, © De Gruyter). Forschungsmethode: empirisch-qualitativ; empirisch; Befragung. "The aim of this study is to better understand the push and pull factors of degree und post-diploma mobility of European Information science scholars. The author conducted 16 interviews with Information science scholars about their long-term mobility. The investigation shows not only job-related reasons drive scholars into mobility. Personal reasons, such as partnership, of financial reasons, like a funded doctorate position, facilitate international movement. Children or family are the only personal reasons for immobility this study could reveal. The results question if a brain drain can be analyzed by using only statistics. This study is one of the few qualitative studies about long-term mobility." (Author's abstract, © De Gruyter). |
