Abstract | The entry of Russia into the world educational space brings new requirements to the system of higher education, quality of vocational training, which in turn leads to significant changes in the theory of pedagogics of higher education. The article concerns the problems of sports education in Russian classical universities, development of ideas of modernization of the higher sports education system based on its internationalization, identification of major sports and sports activities of students in different countries around the world, planning the content of training sessions on the subject "Physical Education". When developing science-based curriculum on "Physical Education" for foreign students, one is to take into account the mental understanding of physical culture and sport by foreign students, which often relies on the sports popular in their countrv. The inclusion of sport games, athletics, boxing, gymnastics and its variations as variable components of the physical education curriculum can largely enhance the student activity in the classroom, diversify his sports interests in academic and extracurricular activities, and as a result improve the quality of educational services in classical universities where many foreign students study.
