Abstract	The German party-related political foundations have been created as publicly funded actors of civic education and democracy promotion in Germany as well as in their branches overseas. Although they form a global network and offer a certain job market in education across borders, they are rarely noticed by education research and teaching. Their political education is information and education about political themes and political in itself due to the foundations' close party affiliations. The following article explores how this double meaning of political education is manifested in the work of the Friedrich- Ebert-Stiftung and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Mexico by means of a content analysis of all their programmes in the year 2012.
