Abstract	"This article will focus on the case study of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a country that since 2003 has been officially participating in the process of harmonizing its higher education systems based on the Bologna principles (1999). The intention here is to contribute to the state-of-the-art in studies on the transformation of the higher education system(s) in this country, which seems to be relatively under-researched, compared to other former Yugoslav successor countries. In the first part of the analysis we aim to reconstruct the institutional configuration of higher education in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the following parts, the main achievements and obstacles in implementing the reform will be analyzed, with references to different dimensions: political, social, economic and cultural. Finally, as Bosnia and Herzegovina has the status of 'potential candidate country' to the EU accession, the Impact of the European integration and enlargement process on the actual condition of Higher Education will be taken into consideration."
