Abstract | "Empowered, confident, fulfilled teachers provide greater educational experiences for students and help assure a greater satisfaction for themselves, students, parents, and the community. Our goal is to provide both administrators and teachers with an understanding of the essentials of their profession they can manage and, as a result, regain their commitment to and their gratification in their jobs. Greater teacher efficacy and job satisfaction will contribute to both academic and social gains in students. Recent research on motivational theory, will power, and mindsets are presented to inform educators about how much power they have over their reactions to situations. The book then delves into the primary importance of building relationships with all the constituents in the school setting. The book also delineates ways to engage students so that the joy of learning and the joy of teaching are increased. We expect this book will be an essential tool to inspire teachers and leaders to reimagine the excitement that swept them through their early days of teaching. We know that teachers can provide purposeful, inspiring, and even gleeful risk-taking in even the most challenging of classrooms. This practical, hands-on, and realistic book will be useful as an impetus for school change and will make an excellent book study subject for districts, schools, and PLCs"--Provided by publisher. |
