| Abstract | When the author embarked on a journey to start a blog, she had no idea it would save her teaching career. After several years of teaching, she was already burned out. She was caving to the negativity that can often surround education and was just plain tired. She wasn't excited about teaching like she should be. She needed something more. She needed something to help her remember why she got into this profession in the first place. Writing a blog, connecting with other art teachers and putting herself "out there" was just the ticket! In this article, the author presents 10 good reasons to start a blog. She encourages teachers to think about not just starting a simple blog that has lessons from their classroom, but to think of a more specific theme that is a missing niche in the art-education world. How about a blog just on art-room management, or perhaps a blog only focused on art and interdisciplinary connections? Art and technology? The possibilities are endless. (ERIC). |
