Abstract | Examines the relationship between information technology and employment. Analyzing 120 years of employment data, the author concludes that, in the long run, technological development results in declining levels of employment. Assesses differences in the employment structures of various developed countries to produce an idea of possible futures in the information society. (75 references) (PEN) |
