Abstract | Thanks to the development of faster Internet and better technology tools, students and teachers can network, collaborate, co-create products, build knowledge together, and share that knowledge with whomever they want around the world. Julie Lindsay describes online resources, tools, and projects that teachers can use for online global collaborations. These collaborations range from simple websites in which students can find an authentic audience for their blogs and comment on other students' blogs to complex joint projects in which students explore issues and co-create products. Lindsay asserts that online global collaboration addresses several important goals: to prepare learners to be globally competitive and to act on issues of global significance, to provide a focus for students' engagement with digital and online technologies, and to challenge the isolation of the way we currently teach and learn.
