Abstract | This study explored the usefulness of incorporating technology into the college financial accounting course. Based on many years of experience in higher education, many traditional and nontraditional learners face challenges while attempting to pass the financial accounting course successfully. For instance, numerous studies by colleges and universities have indicated that financial accounting is a challenging course to pass, and some learners do not seem to comprehend fully a portion of the course content. Additionally, this study examined the learners' passing rates and explored various types of practical instructional practices and techniques for the financial accounting course. Moreover, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) asked for the integration of technology into accounting courses; therefore, the effect of incorporating CengageNOW, an online teaching and learning resource, into the financial accounting course was examined. Incorporating an online teaching and learning resource, such as CengageNOW, improved the students' percentages of points and supported the students to improve their grades score for a final grade in a college-level financial accounting course. Using this intervention (i.e., CengageNOW) supported the students in learning and achievement. Therefore, the study's recommendation was to incorporate CengageNOW, an online teaching and learning resource used in this study, into the college financial accounting course. A future research study could be conducted to examine the practicality and effectiveness of other online teaching and learning resources, such as Connect by McGraw-Hill Education or WileyPLUS by John Wiley and Sons.
