Abstract | This 5-volume directory describes more than 1,000 discretionary grants and contracts supported by the Research to Practice Division of the Office of Special Education Programs. The projects are grouped into sections representing the seven program areas of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Amendments (1997), Part D. This volume, the second of the directory, describes projects concerning personnel preparation. These projects are designed to help address state-identified needs for qualified personnel in special and regular education, related services, and early intervention to work with children with disabilities, and to ensure that those personnel have the skills and knowledge, derived from practices that have been determined through research and experience to be successful, that are needed to serve those children. The approximately 500 projects are grouped by funding competitions and include information on grant number, title, project director, beginning and ending dates, and contact information. Usually an abstract describes the project's purpose, proposed method, and proposed products. Four indexes are provided: a project director index, an organization index, a state index, and a subject index. (CR) |
