Abstract | This document analyzes two seminars called "Personnel--Human Resources Development" and "Emergence of Vocational, Technnical, and Occupational (VTO) Education in the field-based higher education doctoral program at Nova University. It also includes conclusions drawn from the 6 years those seminars have been in use and comments on the preparation of leaders who can think strategically about transforming contemporary traditional establishments into ones appropriate for an advanced technological era. The first section describes Nova University's nontraditional graduate programs. The second section describes the vocational, technical, and occupational program, including the specialization seminar called the Emergence of Vocational and Technical Education in America, and displays a graphic depiction of multiyear vocational, technical, and occupational education. The third section describes the Higher Education Director's Team formed in 1987 to evaluate the university's programs in higher education. Section 4 describes "Personnel--Human Resources Development" (1988) and section 5 describes "Emergence--VTO Education" (1989). Section 6 analyzes the output and impact of the seminars. The last section offers conclusions. A three-page bibliography and three appendices of strategic planning information conclude the document. (CML) |
